How We Work

We act as resources for our partners in a manner that avoids infringing on their purposes while furthering our cause of mitigating air pollution.

There are multiple prongs to every initiative:

Establish a community-owned air monitoring network

Air monitoring networks allow us to develop conclusions about air quality inhibitors using data analysis techniques. These conclusions inform where HEPA purifiers are most necessary and what policies should be addressed for improvement.

Run a HEPA filter pilot program

The HEPA filter pilot program has a twofold effect. Implementing HEPA filters in community centers and volunteers’ homes delivers us before/after data comparisons. We process the data and demonstrate HEPA purifier outcomes through these comparisons for use by our partners. We further mitigate air pollution by placing HEPA filters in strategic locations.

Advocate for air justice

We fuel advocacy by our partners with data analysis. Combining data with sentiments of communities turns heads of policymakers and affects positive change.

Allow for real time air quality tracking

Residents of impacted communities are able to use our site to explore data for themselves and discover the features of the air they breathe. This drives environmental awareness and health conscientiousness as individuals will be more assertive in policy change and more cautious with air quality-related decisionmaking.
